Heart up the wall

I’ve put my heart out on the wall

To frame it or trample it is for you to decide

But a thousand thoughts & insecurities later

I’ve put my heart out on the wall.

Vulnerability is the boldest decision of all

To consciously bring the defences down

Wait impatiently for the other one to take a call

And hope simply that the heart will be protected on that wall.

Risking the agony of heartbreaks that’s not new at all

Hoping against hope for a fresh start

Despite the many counsels of the heart

I still choose to put it up on the wall.

What other than bold choices is life after all

Choices to move on despite a concerning past

And to have hopes for the new idea that calls

And bravely go put that heart up the wall.
